Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin
During our anniversary year we have chosen a very special destination for our 2024 Cathedral weekend (ok it's more than a weekend) – the city of Dublin where we will sing services in the splendid Christ Church Cathedral and base ourselves in Trinity College Dublin, home of the Book of Kells. In between rehearsals there will be plenty of time to see the famous manuscript, explore Viking Dublin, wander around the National Gallery and visit the Guinnesss Storehouse. Subject to confirmation we will also sing in Trinity College Chapel.
The course will begin with an initial sing through at 4.30 on Thursday and end after breakfast on Monday morning.
Who is the course for?
This course is for experienced singers who want to improve their choral technique and enjoy exploring a rich mix of repertoire in a convivial social setting. Singing couples and individual singers are all welcome. Music will be sent out in advance and, while nobody is expected to be note perfect on arrival, we do expect singers to familiarise themselves with the music beforehand. This is not a course for beginners but anyone who has been singing regularly in a choral society or church choir is unlikely to feel out of their depth.

Where to stay?
We will be staying in Trinity College Dublin, founded in 1592, right in the cultural heart and academic heart of Dublin. The study bedrooms are small but recently refurbished and all are en suite. There is a self-service restauarant and a bar on site - but Dublin is hardly short of bars!
Getting there
This bit is up to you and is not included in the price. Dublin has just one airport and there are plenty of budget flights available from Ryanair as well as regular scheduled services with the main national carriers.
What does it cost?
The course fee is payable in two stages - a deposit of of £245 and a further payment of £645 no later than eight weeks before the course commences . This covers tuition, four nights accommodation with breakfast (based on two sharing) and two evening meals. Music - which can be kept - will cost £35 and is sent out six-eight weeks in advance. The single occupancy supplement is £30 per night. Non-singers sharing a singer's room pay a reduced fee of £695.
Holiday insurance
All singers are required to take out appropriate holiday insurance and supply their policy details to us before the course begins. You should also bring a GHIC card or an EHIC card with you - if yours is still valid.
